Hi! I’m Madelene. For years working as a heart health RN, it was deeply difficult to see people learn after a heart attack—that their lifestyle played a significant role in their health. So many times I heard, “I didn’t realize my (sedentary lifestyle, stress, food habits, or weight gain) could lead to this.” That experience led me to create Woodstream Heart Health Coaching. My mission is to help women take a proactive approach to their health by preventing lifestyle-related chronic disease. I do this by providing the tools, guidance, and support needed to build lasting habits—so you can not only improve your current health and well-being, but also reduce your risk for developing lifestyle related chronic disease in the future.
Your lifestyle is key to your health and wellbeing

Madelene Daniel is a Registered Nurse and AHNCC board-certified Nurse Coach living on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. With more than 30 years of nursing experience—primarily in heart health—she is passionate about the power of evidence-informed Lifestyle Medicine, which shows that our daily lifestyle choices have a profound impact on overall health, wellness, and the prevention of chronic disease. Through her work, Madelene has seen firsthand how the current healthcare system—with increasing pressures & cuts in chronic care services and limited access to primary care—often leaves people without the support they need to live well. As a Registered Nurse & Health Coach, her mission is to help bridge this gap.
Madelene brings together clinical nursing expertise and lifestyle coaching to support meaningful, lasting change. Her approach is grounded in holistic, person-centered care, with a focus on chronic disease prevention and the Six Pillars of Health from Lifestyle Medicine. When she is not working, she can be found outside – gardening, hiking, biking, kayaking, sailing or just going for a walk.
Madelene is a member of the Canadian Holistic Nurses Association, the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance and is a Board Certified Nurse Coach with the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC). She is a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and member of the Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC.
